The
»DivX ;-)«-Codec has a bug (Version 4.1.00.3920, others maybe) : DivXcomp is used to make the video format of DivXMPG4 (DivX-Low/DIV3) files ("directly captured" and "new compressed") compatible so that they can be joined -("appended") by VirtualDub. The DivX-Low-Codec uses to write "DIV3" as video mode in directly captured files, but "div3" in new compressed ones. So VirtualDub thinks these are two different video formats and won't join them. If you still have not understood the sense of this program: DivX is a high-compressing video-codec which you can use for "recording" video from a tv-card to your harddisk. Naturally, you have to cut commercial-breaks or trailers off the file, e.g. with the freeware "VirtualDub" by Avery Lee. You can save much time when cutting DivX-video with VirtualDub: For video-sequences which begin with a "keyframe" you can use "direct-stream-copy" and so don't have to re-compress video. Just recompress sequences which don't begin with a keyframe, and this just till the frame before the next keyframe. Then you just have to "open" the first sequence and "append" all the following sequences in the right order. Now use "direct- stream-copy" and "save avi" to save all to a single file. And this program enables VirtualDub to join two DivX-files by changing every "div3" into "DIV3" or the other way round. |
